last a lifetime
I woke up this morning thinking about how much I love you.
I’ve never loved anyone this much.
I fall asleep thinking of you—saying your name in my mind,
as if just remembering you could take all the pain away.
The thing is, when I say your name,
it feels like a prayer for your happiness.
It feels okay that we didn’t work out—
because wherever you are in the world,
with whoever you’re with,
I just hope you find every bit of joy you deserve.
That you live a full life,
and stay as beautiful and awesome as you are.
If you ever feel pain, I’ll be there for you.
I’ve woken up almost every morning thinking,
“Soham, I love you.”
And honestly, that fills me with so much light—
love, warmth, strength, peace.
Loving you has become a part of who I am—
a part I’m deeply proud of.
This Diwali, I just wanted to thank you
for bringing so much light into my life,
for creating a fire so bright
it keeps me glowing with joy for as long as I live.
I understand now
why they say love is the greatest force—
it truly transcends all.
I love you even when we’re miles apart,
even when we don’t speak for months.
I’ll love you even when we’re not together.
What I feel for you
makes me want to dance my heart out.
It makes me want to be good—
to myself, and to others.
Thank you for being the person I can love.
Thank you for teaching me what love really is,
and for filling me with so much life—
enough to last a lifetime.
